AIR SIGN // KHAOS

am not fuel for your flickering candle.

I will blow the candles from your cake and wash the wishes from your mouth. I will throw back the hood on your head and leave your face burnt and your lips cracked. I will snatch your last spark.

Watch as I dance your childish fury into nothingness.

I am not a bubble trapped in your briny depths nor am I the chariot of your clouds.

I will shape your very surface and break you against the shore. I will turn your face white with my rage and drink you in. Only to spit you hailing from my mouth in a million tiny fragments.

I carry the storm.
I am the storm.

I am not a gentle breeze to caress your cold lifeless stone.

I will wind up the sand and whip its friction into lighting. I will lift the desert and lash it at your mountains until they are scrubbed away. You will be carried by my will, and be left as a crumbling dune.

Forever my dust to sweep.

I am not your messenger of music.

I will roar through the war horns surrounding your village and echo through the hills in all directions. I thunder through the drums that pound against your chest, leaving you gasping.

I will tear the trees from the earth and toss them aside. You cannot escape me. You will never hold me, and yet I will ride my stallion down your veins and turn your royal blue to bloody red.

I will creep beneath your door and steal the warmth from your den. I will rattle your windows until I shear the roof off of your home and hurl a whirlwind of corrugated swords at your flock.

You cannot hide from me.

I will not be drained by your sighs or moved by your impassioned cries.
I am your voice and I will drown your screams in a howling squall.

I flow life into you.
It is with me that your chest rises and falls.

And yet,

There is no death for me.
I hold the whole word in my hands.
I am everywhere. I am infinite.

Give me your offering in smoke and song and I will let you soar as an albatross on my love.

Dare to fight and I will snap your wing and send you spiralling towards the rocks in a dead sea.

To return my gifts with your final breath.
