I have no words for love

I have no words for love.

I have one hundred photos of a sleeping angel, oblivious to my gentle gaze

The shelf made for a collection of vintage Barbies

A sly smile when fury is unleashed at the video game beside me

A backseat filled with flowers picked hastily from the road side

The cat I never wanted, begging for treats on the kitchen table

A new talent for cooking vegetarian food

The urge to stay in bed to not miss a minute shared

Hands kept soft and clean for want of touch

Two sets of toes that wiggle beside mine

The confidence I could never find within myself

I have hope for the future.

I have contentment in the present

I have a cherished past

But,

I have no words for love
